The incident took place on Thursday, November 5. Volunteer firefighters from Ławszowa:
[...] after 4:00 p.m., we were dispatched to rescue a dog trapped in a pipe on the grounds of a disused cast-iron foundry in our town. After assessing the situation, it was determined that a dog was trapped in an outlet pipe located just above the water’s surface in a sedimentation tank approximately 3 meters deep. The operation involved placing two ladders in the tank, allowing the rescuers to reach the animal.
As it turned out, the task was not easy at all. The firefighters said:
The initial attempts to retrieve the dog were unfortunately unsuccessful because it was extremely frightened, and every attempt to pull it out of the pipe caused it to retreat farther inside.
The firefighters from Ławszowa added: “It was decided to secure the dog with a rescue rope, which allowed it to be pulled outside and then brought up to the surface. After the operation, the happy dog wagged its tail and walked away in an unknown direction.”
