The government waited until the very last moment to decide to close cemeteries, even though it had plenty of time to do so. Once again, the authorities’ chaotic decisions have infuriated people.
Some sellers invested huge amounts of money in flowers. These investments sometimes amounted to as much as PLN 20,000. Now they can only throw the flowers in the trash, especially the cut flowers. On top of that, there is the cost of security for the stalls by the cemetery. They will not recover this expense either.
“How can you close cemeteries just a few hours before the busiest period?” the sellers ask.
The owner of the Ceber flower shop in Bolesławiec, one of the sellers by the municipal cemetery in Bolesławiec, lights candles on the graves of loved ones at the request of elderly people. She received several calls from people who were completely surprised by the decision of the Law and Justice government.
“Gardeners will lose the most,” says the businesswoman. “I also have to throw away my cut flowers. We understand everything—the epidemic and the need for safety—but such a decision should have been made much earlier, with everyone in mind.”
The Law and Justice government has once again made a decision that has only unsettled Polish women and men. You can leave your opinions in the comments.
