As emphasized by Katarzyna Zięba, head of the Education, Culture and Sport Department at the Bolesławiec County Office, preliminary decisions have been made regarding teaching in county schools, because so far there has been neither a regulation from the Ministry of National Education nor specific ministry guidelines on the matter.

What has been decided?

Starting Monday, 19 October, two schools—the Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych and I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec—will switch to hybrid learning with the approval of the sanitary authorities. (This is related, among other things, to the fact that two classes, one at each of these schools, are currently under quarantine.) As K. Zięba points out, the county government wants to relieve these institutions somewhat.

What about the other county schools?

The remaining institutions are to switch to hybrid learning the following Monday, that is, 26 October.

How will this work?

The plan of the County and the school principals is as follows: final-year classes will attend school throughout. (Of course, provided that this is possible.) The remaining classes will attend the institutions on a rotating basis: one week of remote learning, followed by one week of in-person learning. All of this is intended to reduce the risk of contracting coronavirus.

Whether this will remain the case is unknown. It depends, among other things, on the Education Ministry’s decisions on the matter.
