The ranking aims to recognize the best municipalities and their leaders. The winners are selected in four categories based on the municipality’s size:

  • rural municipality
  • urban-rural municipality
  • urban municipality with fewer than 100,000 residents
  • urban municipality with more than 100,000 residents.

The Mayor of Bolesławiec was recognized by the jury in the category “Leader of an Urban Municipality with Up to 100,000 Residents.” The ranking results were announced on October 12 in Gdynia, during a gala accompanying the two-day Local Government Pearls 2020 congress. (Due to epidemic restrictions, the congress and gala were prepared as online events).

The municipalities and their leaders were assessed on activities including municipal and financial management, infrastructure, attracting investors, the labor market, education and upbringing, healthcare, public transport, waste management, and environmental protection.
