At the end of August, several concrete slabs were damaged on the A4 motorway section between the Krzyżowa and Krzywa interchanges (near Zgorzelec). They were repaired immediately.
General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways:
The concrete slabs were found to have separated spontaneously, which led to the detachment of pavement slabs. Raised slabs were visible on the carriageway.
The road workers add:
Since the failure occurred, methods for quickly repairing the pavement have been analyzed, with particular emphasis on minimizing traffic disruptions during the renovation and on restrictions resulting from the motorway’s geometry at the site of the incident, primarily the lack of an emergency lane and emergency crossovers.
In September, the road manager signed a contract with a company from Opole. The company’s task is to prepare the renovation documentation, implement and maintain temporary traffic organization, construct new concrete slabs and restore road markings.
GDDKiA:
During the works, the speed limit will be 60 km/h. The works will be carried out under traffic, with one half of the carriageway closed.
The work is scheduled to be completed by mid-October this year. The road workers: – However, the deadline depends on weather conditions.
They add:
We appeal to drivers to exercise caution.
