Mr and Mrs Rajfurowie are celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. They met while attending school in Kraśnik Dolny and married on 12 January 1960. They have three sons, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Despite running a farm and working professionally outside agriculture, they found time for community work for the village, helping organise village festivals and taking part in every event organised by the village council. Despite the passing years and increasingly frequent health problems, they have not lost their cheerfulness, which is certainly a recipe for a happy and harmonious marriage.
This year, Mr and Mrs Krzyśkowie are celebrating their Emerald Wedding Anniversary. The future spouses met in Krępnica in 1965 and had a civil wedding on 30 December 1965. They are the parents of three daughters and have six grandchildren: three girls and three boys. Mr Jan’s interests include his 30 years as a hunter and 65 years of beekeeping; he once had 80 hives and currently has 40. Mrs Maria also shares this passion and co-owns the apiary, while also dividing her time between the home, children and grandchildren.
The Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr and Mrs Bożęccy was preceded by what was perhaps the most colourful story of how a couple met. Young Władzia went with her friends to the orchard by the church to sample the parish apples. The displeased priest, having noticed the intruders, intended to react harshly to the theft taking place before his eyes. It was a close call for Mrs Władysława, who was nearly caught red-handed because, overcome with embarrassment, she could not climb over the fence. Mr Zbigniew came to her aid, unexpectedly appearing in that place at that time and—like a brave knight—rescuing his future wife from trouble. Their acquaintance began in this romantic, thrilling way. True love—and apples—brought them together. They married several months after meeting. Mr and Mrs Bożęccy are the parents of a son, Dariusz, and a daughter, Anna, and have two grandchildren: 22-year-old Paulina and 15-year-old Michał. They have a very broad range of interests and passions. Some of them are shared, including performing with the Retro cabaret in Trzebień and caravanning. In their campervan, charmingly named Berta, they travel across remote areas, enjoying the autumn of their lives and each other’s company.
