As reported by istotne.pl Kamil Barczyk, director of the Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej in Bolesławiec, the internal medicine ward at the county hospital—by decision of the Lower Silesian voivode—will be converted into a ward for patients infected with COVID-19. The conversion is to take place within approximately a week.
What does this mean for patients?
The following wards will not operate at the ZOZ in Bolesławiec:
- pediatrics
- neurology
- infectious diseases
- internal medicine.
Are we facing another “lockdown” of the hospital?
Fortunately, a new hospital for COVID-19 patients is being built on the premises of the Bolesławiec ZOZ. (We have reported on this repeatedly in our articles.) It will have 65 beds, meaning that by November the Bolesławiec facility will have 120 places for patients infected with the virus—and consequently twice as many beds as in the spring, when the epidemic began in Poland.
Situation at the Bolesławiec hospital: 40 people with positive test results; under observation: 0.
