The incident occurred on Friday, 25 September, in the centre of Lubań. “Sappers from the Military Unit in Bolesławiec recovered the unexploded ordnance and completed their work at the site where the dangerous object was discovered on 24 September this year,” reports asp. szt. Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń from the District Police Headquarters in Lubań. “The location where the unexploded ordnance was discovered was near the railway line.”
Approximately 2,500 people were evacuated; DK-30 was closed and railway traffic near the scene was suspended.
The Bolesławiec bomb-disposal specialists detonated the unexploded ordnance at around 12:00.
