Officials from Gromadka Municipality:

The funding is being provided under the “Nationwide Financing Programme for Rescue Services, Part 2: Funding for the Purchase of Equipment and Supplies for Volunteer Fire Brigades”. The aim of the programme, in which Gromadka Municipality is also participating, is to increase the operational readiness of local rescue services by equipping them with the necessary equipment to prevent and eliminate the effects of natural disasters, extreme weather events or technical failures whose consequences pose a threat to people’s lives or health, property or the natural environment.

Our units perform this type of work, and therefore collectively applied for PLN 81,638.46.

They add:

The applications submitted by the volunteer fire brigades from Gromadka, Różyniec, Krzyżowa, Wierzbowa and Nowa Kuźnia for support resulted in funding agreements being signed separately with each of them. To enable the brigades to equip themselves with protective equipment, the municipality provided financial support to secure the full value of the project. The support from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management amounts to 70% of the purchase value. The remaining amount of PLN 34,987.90 is provided from the budget of Gromadka Municipality and allocated accordingly to each unit in the respective financial support agreement.

The volunteer fire brigades are currently purchasing the equipment. Each purchased item must have an approval certificate or certification. The equipment will be used during rescue operations and, above all, is intended to protect firefighters’ health and lives. A great deal—and often our health and lives—depends on their work and commitment in difficult situations.
