Over the course of three days of patrolling the roads of Bolesławiec County, traffic police officers working as part of the SPEED group confiscated as many as five driving licences. The officers:
All the drivers lost their entitlement to drive for a period of three months because they exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 50 km/h.
In Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, officers stopped a 77-year-old resident of Żagań County who was travelling 62 km/h over the limit. A 24-year-old from Gromadka Commune was driving at 111 km/h. In Brzeźnik, meanwhile, a police patrol stopped a 44-year-old woman who was speeding at 114 km/h.
In the area of Nowogrodziec Commune, officers stopped a 19-year-old who exceeded the speed limit by 51 km/h, as well as a 33-year-old driving at 106 km/h.
Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:
All the drivers were fined, received penalty points and lost their driving licences for three months.
The officers add:
We appeal to drivers to take their foot off the accelerator; excessive speed is a frequent cause of road incidents with tragic consequences.
