As Adam Naumczuk, head of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bielsko Podlaskie, Adam Naumczuk reported, the 37-year-old is suspected of contacting a girl online—who was under 15—and, pretending to be her peer, using this deception to arrange a meeting with her for the purpose of sexual exploitation, an offense under Article 200a § 1 of the Criminal Code.

Investigators determined that 14-year-old Roksana had been planning to run away from home. RMF FM:

Prosecutor Naumczuk said that the suspect admits contacting the 14-year-old and corresponding with her through a fictitious online profile, but denies that the ultimate purpose was to sexually exploit her.

Investigators emphasize that the suspect was unable to explain why he brought the minor there. He stated that he had not endangered her health or life because… he had given her a sleeping bag.

As a reminder, we described the case in detail on Saturday. On September 7 this year, at around 8:15 a.m., 14-year-old Roksana from Bielsko Podlaskie left home. There had been no contact with her since then. Police determined that, instead of going to school, the girl went to the PKP railway station and took a train to Bolesławiec. There, at the PKP station, she met an unknown man, and all trace of her was lost.

Police officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters and the Search and Rescue Group at the Lwówek Śląski County Police Headquarters, whose indispensable member is a tracking dog, began searching for the teenager.

The intensive search continued for several hours. On September 12, a few minutes after midnight, officers found the girl. The teenager was in the basement of the ruins of a farm near Chmielno, not far from Lwówek Śląski. After a medical examination, the 14-year-old, safe and unharmed, was taken to the unit.

At the same time, a man whom police had been seeking in connection with the teenager’s disappearance was also detained. He is a 37-year-old resident of Lwówek County.

Police are investigating all the circumstances of the case in detail.
