The teenager was beaten on Saturday evening near the Łajba bar. As district prosecutor Adam Zieliński reports, the 17-year-old from Głogów was going with friends to a disco in Suszki. Instead of reaching the disco, the young man ended up in hospital—beaten and with knife wounds.

The resident of Głogów fell victim to two young residents of Bolesławiec, who allegedly recognized him as the boy with whom they had previously argued. During questioning at the prosecutor’s office, they were no longer certain about this.

The drunk attackers first set a dog on the victim and then attacked him. Another young man was with the criminals, but, as the prosecution established, he did not take part in the fight.

The 17-year-old was struck twice with a kitchen knife—in the abdomen and in the back. At the hospital, it turned out that one of the blows had seriously damaged a lung. A bronchial injury was also suspected. The boy was transported to the Thoracic Surgery Clinic in Wrocław.

The police arrested the perpetrators within several hours. As prosecutor Adam Zieliński reports, the attacker who delivered the blows is one of those who beat and set fire to a young resident of Bolesławiec in May last year. At the time, as a minor, he was sent by the Family Court to a juvenile detention centre in Racibórz. He was granted leave for the holidays. Beating someone with the use of a dangerous weapon is punishable by up to eight years’ imprisonment.
