The fire broke out on Thursday, September 3, before 8:00 p.m., in a multifamily building on the main road in Czerna. Several fire service units were at the scene.

The residents were evacuated; no one was injured.

OSP Nowogrodziec reported on the incident:

Alert! On September 3, 2020, at around 8 p.m., two crews were dispatched to a fire at a multifamily building in Czerna. When the crews arrived, the fire had already consumed most of the roof. Numerous water streams were deployed, including two from aerial ladders.

After the fire was brought under control, demolition work and the evacuation of property began. At this time, the building is unfit for habitation.

The Nowogrodziec firefighters added:

After the operations were completed, a crew from OSP KSRG Czerna remained at the scene to monitor the site.

In addition to the firefighters from Nowogrodziec and Czerna, the operation involved crews from OSP Gierałtów, OSP Zebrzydowa, OSP Nowogrodziec – Osiedle and JRG Bolesławiec.
