The incident took place on Sunday, August 30, after 9:00 p.m., on the road between Rakowice Małe and Ocice. Sgt. Olga Łukaszewicz, spokesperson for the Lwówek police:

The duty officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski received a report concerning a passenger car hitting a tree.

And adds:

Police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski dispatched to the scene determined that the 33-year-old man driving a Škoda Fabia had failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions and had hit a roadside tree head-on.

The Škoda’s passengers were injured and taken to hospital. During their proceedings, police officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on the driver—and the person responsible for the accident. It turned out that the 33-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County had 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.

Our local resident was placed in a police holding cell, and his driving licence was also confiscated. He will now face the court for his actions.
