We asked all local authorities about the matter. Marta Kołodziejska, head of the School Services Office in Nowogrodziec:
The educational institutions for which Nowogrodziec Gmina is the managing authority are well prepared to begin the 2020/2021 school year. Taking into account the guidelines of the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate for public and non-public schools and institutions effective from 1 September 2020, as well as the updated anti-epidemic guidelines of the Chief Sanitary Inspector dated 25 August 2020 for kindergartens, preschool departments in primary schools and other forms of preschool education, and childcare institutions for children up to 3 years of age, appropriate procedures have been developed defining the rules for the operation of institutions during the pandemic and under the applicable sanitary regime. They remain in constant contact with the managing authority. The schools’ readiness to begin the 2020/2021 school year is being verified on an ongoing basis.
Objects and equipment that cannot be effectively disinfected have been removed from the rooms. The kindergarten and schools are equipped with cleaning supplies, dispensers, disinfectants, masks, face shields and gloves. Touchless disinfection stations or dispensers with disinfectant are located at the entrances. Dispensers with disinfectant are also located, for example, in corridors, near school common rooms, libraries and gymnasiums.
Teaching will be conducted on-site. There are no indications that a shift system or hybrid learning will be introduced. Children will be transported to schools under the sanitary regime specified for public transport.Where organizationally possible, principals assigned each class one classroom in which all lessons, except computer lab classes, will be held. Where possible, student lockers were spaced out, access to cloakrooms was reorganized, and specific school building floors were assigned to particular classes. In addition, the conditions for parents and other third parties staying on school premises were limited to the necessary minimum.
Each principal determined how the opening of the school year would take place at their institution. Where traditional assemblies are being organized, students have been divided into groups and ceremony start times have been set while maintaining social distancing. Some principals adopted the general rule that, on this ceremonial day, the principal would meet only with children newly admitted to kindergartens and preschool departments at primary schools, as well as with first-grade students and their parents. The remaining students will meet in classrooms with their form teachers.
And adds:
We believe that, through joint efforts and by taking maximum responsibility for our students, we are able to ensure their safety.
