The incident occurred on Sunday, October 18, at the intersection of Garncarska and Lubańska streets in Bolesławiec. At approximately 4:10 a.m., the Renault driver, a 20-year-old resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, failed to yield the right of way and struck an Opel traveling correctly. Two people were injured in the accident: the Opel’s driver and passenger. Both were taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec. The Renault driver and passenger were unharmed.
At the time of his arrest, the 20-year-old was drunk. He had a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille. He now faces up to 4.5 years in prison.
