This season, Pirat Bolesławiec, a sailing club operating on Krępnica, is once again offering training to children aged 7–10. In this way, it promotes sailing and recruits the youngest children to the club. The children are eager to take part in the classes. Training takes place in the Optimist class, the smallest racing class in the world. After the classes, children who took part in the training can join the club and enjoy a great adventure. The club provides racing training in the Optimist class for children up to the age of 15, as well as in the Laser 4.7 class—a preparatory class for the Olympic Laser Standard and Radial classes—for children and young people aged 12 and over.
Participants completed five days of training, three hours per day. They learned to sail and tie knots, and had lots of fun. In addition to classes for children, residents of the town and surrounding area can come aboard the club’s Omega and Orion yachts. The “Whole Family Under Sail” program is aimed at everyone who would like to try yacht sailing. A skipper is, of course, on board to ensure that the cruise proceeds safely. All this is made possible through cooperation between UKŻ Pirat Bolesławiec, the Polish Yachting Association and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
