The incident occurred on Thursday, October 8, on the road between Krzyżowa and Gromadka. At 10:30 a.m., firefighters received a report about an almost 100-meter-long oil spill that had appeared on the route. It was so slippery that the drivers of a Renault and a Mercedes veered off the road and ended up in a ditch.
Only the Renault driver was injured in the collision. The man was taken to hospital for observation. His life is not in danger.
Serious road incidents have occurred at this location repeatedly. A “Caution: slippery road surface” sign was put up there, along with a speed limit of 40 km/h.
Firefighters removed the spill using an absorbent that effectively absorbs fats, paints and varnishes.
