A Reader, a resident of Bolesławiec County, called us. On Tuesday, July 21, he had been at the municipal cemetery in Bolesławiec and raised the issue of the area where small children are buried:
This is a picture of sloppiness and shoddy workmanship.
He added:
This is not a cemetery in the Borderlands, but in the heart of Europe. Our closest loved ones lie there.
As istotne.pl was told by Kazimierz Łomotowski, director of the Municipal Housing Management Facility in Bolesławiec, which manages the cemetery, the administrator takes care of cleanliness on the main avenues and paths, but not between the graves.
Why? Because when cemetery workers carried out maintenance work between the graves and caused any damage to a tombstone, people turned to MZGM, for example, to request reimbursement for repair costs. For this reason, those who visit their loved ones must take care of the space between the graves.
K. Łomotowski stresses that the cemetery is managed very well; it is well maintained and clean, and all trees that posed a danger to people have been cut down.
