At approximately 1:46 p.m., units from JRG Bolesławiec were dispatched to a road incident on provincial road no. 357 in Tomisław. At the scene, it was determined that a road accident had occurred. A passenger car had hit a tree.

It turned out that the first person to arrive at the scene was firefighter from JRG Bolesławiec, Kamil Krzyśko, who was off duty at the time. He determined that an injured, unconscious person was inside the damaged car. He also found that the casualty was not breathing. He quickly assessed the situation and evacuated the casualty from the vehicle. He cleared the casualty’s upper airway, which restored breathing.

He then assisted the person together with his colleagues from JRG Bolesławiec until the casualty was handed over to the emergency medical team. The injured man was transported to hospital by the Polish Medical Air Rescue service. The rescue helicopter landed on a sports field in Tomisław. Units from JRG Bolesławiec also secured the landing site.

The incident took place on Monday, 20 July, before 2:00 p.m., on the road between Tomisław and Osiecznica. The 44-year-old driver of a Volkswagen, a resident of Osiecznica Municipality, lost control of the vehicle for reasons not yet established, left the road and hit a tree.
The man, who was trapped in the car, was seriously injured. A Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter was called to the scene. The casualty was transported to a hospital in Legnica.
