The incident occurred on Monday, 13 July, before 10:00 a.m., in Wykroty (Nowogrodziec municipality). Two vehicles collided: a MAN truck driven by a 57-year-old resident of the Nowogrodziec municipality and a Toyota passenger car driven by a 65-year-old man from Zgorzelec County.

The car was also carrying two unrelated children: an 11-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. Both were injured.

The emergency medical team also provided assistance to the truck driver. The Toyota driver escaped the incident unharmed.

An Air Ambulance Service helicopter was called to the scene and took the most seriously injured boy to a specialist hospital in Wrocław. The child suffered a head injury. Fortunately, the girl sustained no more serious injuries. (She was treated at the scene.)

According to the uniformed officers' preliminary findings, the MAN driver was responsible for the accident.

Traffic is moving alternately in both directions along this section.
