Criminals are constantly trying to exploit the naivety of elderly people. This time, the victim of the female thieves was a 79-year-old resident of Złotoryja. “Two women she did not know knocked on the door of her apartment. They were invited inside,” reports Staff Sergeant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the Złotoryja police headquarters. “When one of them went to the kitchen with the senior citizen to have some water, the other remained alone in the room. Only after the women had left the apartment did the 79-year-old realize that PLN 1,500 had been stolen from her.
The victim notified the police. Officers’ findings show that on the same day, the fraudsters also tried to rob another 70-year-old woman. However, she was alert and was not deceived by the fraudsters. She did not allow one of them to remain alone in the room.
