She called us, the Reader, to inform us about a hole in the road in Otok (Bolesławiec municipality). “It’s a huge cavity—unbelievable,” she said. The person who reported it said that her relatives narrowly avoided an accident there. Once, a motorcyclist hit the back of the car driven by her husband.
The problem has existed since September last year. The Reader stressed that she had reported the matter both to the Municipal Office and to the village authorities. (She was convinced that the hole was in a municipal road.)
In March this year, someone inspected the cavity, but, as the person who reported it noted, that was where the whole matter ended. And the hole is still there, just as it was.
We asked the Bolesławiec Municipal Office for comment on the matter. Romuald Ochyra, Head of the Investment and Infrastructure Department, Romuald Ochyra:
Regarding the intervention concerning the poor condition of the asphalt surface of the road in Otok, we inform you that the location in question lies within the right-of-way of a county road. The Head of the County Roads Authority with its registered office in Bolesławiec has been notified and undertook to remove the damage without delay.
