The incident occurred after 9 p.m. in Bolesławiec. Police received a report about a man who had climbed onto a viaduct and gone beyond the barriers. He appeared to be intending to take his own life. Firefighters were called to the scene. They deployed an inflatable rescue cushion and also wanted to stretch a line across the river to stop the man's body from being carried away if he jumped. However, they could not do so because the river current was too strong.

Fortunately, police officers managed to persuade the man to come down from the viaduct.

The operation ended after 40 minutes.
