A reader called us to ask whether the gala for presenting the Bolesławiec Municipality Executive’s Scholarships would be held this year. And if so—when and in what form.

The epidemiological situation in which we are currently functioning has meant that, since March 16, 2020, students have been fulfilling their schooling obligation through remote learning. This form of education, introduced without prior preparation, contributed to disparities in the teaching and learning process, because not everyone had the same conditions for studying (different equipment and internet access).
Students’ results in this form of education may depend largely on these factors, and consequently so may their end-of-year grades. It should also be noted that children and young people cannot demonstrate success in subject and artistic competitions or sports events, because the vast majority of them were not organized. Moreover, the results of the eighth-grade examinations will not be known until July 31, 2020.
And she adds:
The above circumstances and restrictions in force during the epidemic state forced us to make the difficult decision not to organize this year the gala at which the Bolesławiec Municipality Executive’s scholarships would be awarded.
