The incident occurred during the night of June 8–9, after 4:00 a.m. on the A4. The driver of a Mercedes truck, a 41-year-old Ukrainian citizen, probably fell asleep at the wheel. The foreign national left his lane and hit the barriers. The vehicle overturned and blocked both lanes.
The driver was traveling with his relief driver, also a Ukrainian. Both men were sober. Fortunately, neither suffered any serious injuries.
