The incident occurred on Sunday, June 7, in the afternoon. Traffic police officers from Legnica, on duty on the motorway, received a report about a young roe deer running along the road. “The animal posed a potential danger to drivers travelling on the A4,” says junior warrant officer Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica.

She adds:

At kilometre 64, between the towns of Krzywa and Jadwisin, officers noticed a small, frightened deer standing in the middle of the road. Due to the danger, they decided to temporarily close the roadway.

One of the police officers, holding the fawn by its antlers, led it to the roadside. Then, to prevent it from entering the roadway, the officers carried it to a nearby forest.

The officers:

Let us remember to watch the road carefully while driving and adjust our speed to any potential hazard that may appear on the road.
