Registration is now open for classes at the Stanisław Wyspiański Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury. – This year we have created 64 groups – says Marek Łętowski, the institution’s director. – We were able to do this thanks to the renovation of the heating system in the Gallery of Talents. Art classes will now be held there regularly.
New additions to the cultural centre’s program include a computer lab, national dance classes (noble dances), as well as theatre and literature classes for young children, led by Katarzyna Pranić. – I would like to create a situation in which, when the theatre returns to us, something can be presented on its stage. I want theatrical life to thrive here – says the head of the cultural centre.
Marek Łętowski has been serving as acting director of the MDK since 1 September. This does not mean, however, that he lacks a vision for developing the institution. – We are focusing on cooperation with other countries – he says. – We will try to obtain funding from European Union funds and carry out two animation projects. As part of one of them, we would like to organise a meeting of many cultures and nations in Bolesławiec.
– We are also working to improve children’s safety. Soon, a handrail for small children who have had difficulty reaching the first floor will be installed in the MDK building – Łętowski explains. – It matters to us that the child should be the most important thing at this institution. The little ones should feel at home here.
As the new director emphasizes, the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury is to be a school friendly to children and young people. But not only that. – The MDK is also to be a place where SOMETHING is happening. And that SOMETHING will encompass truly many fantastic things – he adds.
You can register!
