Police officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, the Provincial Police Headquarters in Opole, the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec and Krapkowice established that a luxury car listed as missing was located in a forest in Bolesławiec County.

The vehicle was found at the scene, along with a 30-year-old man directly involved in the case. “Immediate action was taken, leading to the arrest of two more suspects, aged 32 and 39,” says Staff Sergeant Marta Kubiak, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “The men are residents of Bolesławiec and Lubin counties. During a search of property belonging to one of them, criminal investigators secured parts and components from stolen vehicles, as well as registration plates listed as missing from eight other cars from various parts of Poland.”

In addition, police officers discovered marijuana in one of the rooms.

That was not the end of the matter. One of the men, the 39-year-old, was also wanted by the prosecutor’s office.

All three were placed in a police detention facility; procedural activities were carried out with them the following day. “The evidence collected enabled the 30-year-old to be charged with a number of offenses, including burglary, handling stolen goods and possession of narcotic substances, while the 32-year-old was charged with handling stolen goods,” adds Staff Sergeant M. Kubiak.

Meanwhile, police officers in Legnica recovered cars stolen from Legnica County and arrested a 31-year-old suspect in the case. The cars disappeared several days ago. When the owners realized that the vehicles were missing, they immediately reported the thefts to the police.

“Officers from the Department for Combating Property Crime, who deal with vehicle crime, immediately began searching for the vehicles and suspects. As a result of intensive cooperation between the injured party and the police, the vehicle the perpetrator may have been driving was identified. The officers’ operational work led to the suspect being identified and arrested. During searches of locations belonging to a 31-year-old resident of Legnica, two stolen vehicles were discovered in one of the courtyards near Legnica. In addition, several portions of amphetamine were found on the man. The 31-year-old was charged with burglary and possession of narcotic substances, to which he confessed,” explains Junior Aspirant Jagoda Ekiert of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica.

Police:

All those arrested in connection with vehicle crime will now face trial for their actions. Burglary is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. In the case of handling stolen goods, the sentence may be up to five years.

Possession of drugs, in turn, is punishable by up to three years in prison.
