Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn arrested a 25-year-old resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality as a result of operational activities. “The man is suspected of committing four burglaries involving the fuel tanks of trucks and stealing diesel fuel worth a total of PLN 5,000,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
She adds:
The suspect was arrested in Gromadka municipality, near a place where truck drivers stop for longer rest breaks. The 25-year-old had various tools in his car that could have been used to commit the offenses.
Moreover, officers established that the resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality had committed another offense. It emerged that he had accepted—in settlement—a bicycle that had been stolen. (The 25-year-old knew this.)
The recovered bicycle was returned to its owner. The burglar admitted his guilt and gave explanations. He now faces a prison sentence of between one and as many as ten years.
