Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police unit were called out on Sunday morning to intervene in a matter involving, among other things, littering in a parking lot. “A bicycle was located next to the vehicle containing the people whom the officers were dealing with. According to the information obtained by the officers, the bicycle had been left there by someone. Suspecting that the bicycle might have come from a crime, the officers secured it,” explains asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
She adds:
It turned out that the bicycle, worth more than PLN 3,000, had been stolen in Bolesławiec, from a stairwell, during the night, several hours earlier, and its owner had not yet had time to report the matter to the police.
The officers found information about the stolen bicycle on social media and returned it to its owner.
Let us recall that theft is punishable by between three months and as many as five years in prison.
