– The 23-year-old resident of Bolesławiec admitted to the alleged offense. The suspect is well known to the uniformed officers due to previously committed crimes and offenses against property – says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – Based on the evidence collected by the police, the court, at the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, applied pre-trial detention to the arrested man for a period of three months.
Let us recall. The incident occurred on Monday, May 11, in the morning, at one of the grocery discount stores in Bolesławiec. Store staff noticed that a 23-year-old man had stolen chewing gum. When they tried to detain him, he threatened to use a knife.
The police were called to the scene. Based on surveillance footage, the officers identified the suspect.
The man was quickly arrested. He now faces between one and ten years in prison.
