Flag of the Republic of Poland Day has been celebrated since 2004. The celebrations aim, among other things, to promote knowledge about Polish identity and national symbols. The colours shown on the national flag are among the most important elements of national identity. 2 May is also the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad.
The White-and-Red Flag on Bolesławiec Market Square
On 2 May, the white-and-red flag was raised on Bolesławiec Market Square. This year, the traditional Bolesławiec ceremony was cancelled due to the state of epidemic introduced in Poland. The flag was raised on the flagpole by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman.
