Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec identified the perpetrator of the theft of metal elements from a footbridge used to inspect a bridge, based on the information they gathered. The suspect is a 32-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality. The man was arrested.
The perpetrator admitted to the crime. He explained that he cut the stolen footbridge elements into smaller pieces and sold them at a non-ferrous metals collection point.
The 32-year-old now faces a sentence ranging from three months to as many as five years in prison.
