Information provided by county governor Tomasz Gabrysiak during Friday’s conversation:

Hospital

The decision to transform the hospital in Bolesławiec into an infectious disease hospital was made by the voivode. We began rebuilding the hospital in mid-March. Today, as many as 20 ventilators can operate simultaneously in the hospital. We thank companies from Bolesławiec for their assistance. The TVN Foundation supported our hospital, as did the Lewandowski couple.

In the hospital, multi-person rooms were converted into isolation rooms and airlocks were created. Work is currently underway on the hospital’s top floor. Patients with coronavirus will also be hospitalized there.

The county allocated PLN 1,300,000 for construction work and the production of personal protective equipment for hospital employees.

Samples are transported to Wrocław three times a day. We wait three to four days for the results. Equipment needed to launch a laboratory at the hospital in Bolesławiec has been ordered. The planned delivery date is April 24. We are constantly fighting for more medical equipment.

We are also supporting the Voivodeship Hospital, which also admits people infected with coronavirus, with disposable supplies.

Investments

We definitely want to continue implementing all projects concerning road infrastructure. We want to complete three major road projects this year. We also want to carry out other planned investments, but it is not known how long the pandemic will last.

Isolation facility

People infected with coronavirus but in a mild condition will be referred to the isolation facility in Kraśnik. They will be under medical supervision. We have about 50 places at the facility. The isolation facility will be opened next week. The voivode will contribute to the costs of maintaining the isolation facility. The police will guard the facility.

The county governor thanks the residents of Bolesławiec County for all their help and support during this difficult time of the epidemic. During this difficult time, we can also count on the support of other local governments.

Education

The minister’s postponement of the secondary school-leaving examinations is justified. We will hold the examinations at the designated time.

Face masks

At the county office’s request, a company is sewing masks and coveralls for the hospital’s needs. Some of the materials will be given to commune heads for the needs of services in the county. I am convinced that local companies will respond to market needs.

Holiday wishes

Ladies and gentlemen, let us believe that things will get better. I wish you all the best and good health. I hope that what has affected us will end soon. All the best.
