If a doctor authorized to conduct these examinations is unavailable, they may be performed by another doctor. This doctor may issue the appropriate medical certificate—including via the internet or telephone—but it will be valid for 30 days from the date the state of epidemic is revoked. (The employee should then be promptly referred for examinations by an authorized occupational medicine doctor.)

Furthermore, periodic medical examinations of employees are suspended for the duration of the state of epidemic, including the obligation to conduct periodic and psychological examinations of drivers performing road transport (commercial and non-commercial) and train drivers.

Medical certificates issued before the state of epidemic was introduced as part of initial, periodic and follow-up examinations, whose validity expired after 7 March 2020, will remain valid for 60 days after the state is revoked. During this period, the employee will have to undergo the examinations.
