In total, the County allocated more than PLN 1,300,000 for this purpose. These funds will cover, among other things, the cost of adaptation work being carried out at the hospital to create isolation rooms and install the necessary systems for the hospital to operate as a dedicated infectious-disease hospital.
The funds will finance the adaptation work currently under way, consisting primarily of constructing airlocks and partitions in the existing departments of internal medicine, neurology and general surgery. Construction work is also being carried out in the anaesthesiology and intensive care department and near the operating theatre.
The remainder of the funds will be spent on securing personal protective equipment for doctors and medical staff to protect them from coronavirus infection, particularly coveralls, gowns and protective masks.
For this purpose, Bolesławiec County purchased sanitary-compliant nonwoven fabric, from which protective coveralls are already being sewn. Ultimately, approximately 14,000 coveralls and 15,000 protective masks will be produced. The County also purchased disinfectants.
