In Lower Silesia, 682,250 people will receive the “thirteenth” payment. (This includes 275,000 residents of Wrocław, 249,000 residents of Wałbrzych and 158,000 residents of Legnica.)

The additional thirteenth payment is available to people entitled, among other things, to a retirement pension, a disability benefit (for incapacity to work, a training benefit, a social benefit or a family benefit), a parental supplementary benefit (for people who raised at least four children), a teachers’ compensatory benefit, or a pre-retirement benefit or allowance.

– All these people will receive the additional payment if they were entitled to one of these benefits on March 31. If payment of the benefit is suspended on that date (for example, because of excessive additional earnings), they will unfortunately not be entitled to the thirteenth payment – explains Iwona Kowalska-Matis, ZUS regional press spokesperson in Lower Silesia.

The spokesperson reassures all benefit recipients that pensions and disability benefits are paid by ZUS on time. The same applies to the additional benefit, known as the thirteenth payment, which amounts to PLN 1,200 gross, or PLN 981 net. – The first thirteenth payments will appear in pensioners’ accounts tomorrow, April 1 – assures I. Kowalska-Matis.

What needs to be done to receive the thirteenth payment?

Nothing needs to be done to receive this additional payment, as it is paid automatically to everyone entitled, without the need to submit an application. One thirteenth payment is due for a family benefit received by several people. ZUS will divide it into equal shares among each eligible person. For example, if two people receive one family benefit, each will receive PLN 600 gross.

ZUS will pay the so-called thirteenth payments together with the benefit due for April, on the standard pension or disability benefit payment date. There are several payment dates used by ZUS in the region: the 1st, 5th, 6th, 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th of the month.

What about people with debts?

People with debts do not need to worry about the money from the April supplement. Thirteenth payments are not subject to enforcement by bailiffs, even if they are deposited into a bank account. The additional annual cash benefit will have a special description, making it easy to identify in transfers and ensuring that it is not seized by a bailiff.
