In July, we wrote that drivers were speeding excessively on the exit road from Bolesławiec toward Łaziska. The problem was brought to our attention by a Reader, who wrote to the editorial office: “Already eleven families live beyond the end-of-built-up-area sign. We can only wait until some greater tragedy occurs.” The reason? On seeing the sign, drivers sped excessively on the exit road from Bolesławiec.

The man explained that, to improve the safety of local residents, it would be enough to move the sign 250 metres toward Łaziska. Why did the residents of Kosiby Street have to wait so long? “That is not a question for us, but for lawmakers,” says Joanna Jarocka, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian Road and Railway Service, the road administrator. “It could not take less time; those are the procedures,” she explains. At the same time, she adds that the matter was dealt with urgently anyway.
