The Social Insurance Institution’s offices are carrying out their duties arising from legal regulations. The payments of the “thirteenth” pensions are also secure. Despite the restrictions resulting from the recommendations of sanitary services in connection with the coronavirus, ZUS offices are continuing to make benefit payments on an ongoing basis.

– This is particularly important information for our seniors, for whom money from ZUS is most often the only money they receive, so I primarily want to reassure them. There are also no risks to the payment of sickness benefits, disability pensions or care allowances, so this is also good news for employees and employers – assures Iwona Kowalska-Matis, ZUS regional press spokesperson in Lower Silesia. – All benefits are being paid on an ongoing basis and according to schedule. There is no reason for concern. The payments of the “thirteenths” are not at risk either.

What about the “thirteenths”?

ZUS:

The “thirteenths” will be paid automatically, so, as last year, there is no need to submit any applications. Most people will receive them together with their April retirement or disability pension. The additional benefit will be available to people who were entitled to a retirement or disability pension on March 31, 2020.

The total cost of the additional pensions is almost PLN 12 billion.

The institution is continuing to pay not only retirement and disability pensions, but also other benefits, including funeral, care and sickness benefits. ZUS is also paying indexed retirement and disability pensions without disruption. Since March, the increases have covered more than 8 million benefit recipients. The cost of this year’s indexation of retirement and disability pensions is PLN 9.2 billion.
