A resident of Zgorzelec Gmina, while out for a walk, noticed a vehicle parked in agricultural areas, with a woman sitting inside who showed no signs of life. She notified the police.
“The duty officer at the Zgorzelec police station immediately dispatched a patrol from the patrol-and-intervention unit to the area. At the scene, the officers found an Opel with its engine running. A woman was sitting in the driver’s seat with her head resting on the steering wheel,” says junior inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. “The car’s doors and windows were closed, and packages of medication and alcohol bottles were visible inside.
She adds:
As the situation posed a real threat to the woman’s life and health, the officers decided to break the car window and pull her outside. After getting the woman out, the officers provided her with the necessary assistance and monitored her condition until the emergency medical team arrived.
Thanks to the vigilant response of a resident of Zgorzelec Gmina and the swift, decisive actions of police officers, a tragedy was prevented.
