On February 22, at around 11:55 p.m., police officers at the intersection of Lubańska and Sowińskiego streets in Jelenia Góra noticed a VW vehicle. It was moving as if the driver were intoxicated. What is more, upon seeing the police car, the driver suddenly changed direction.
– The police stopped the vehicle for a roadside check. The driver turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra, says Deputy Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. – During the conversation, the officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from him. The test showed nearly 2‰. The man admitted that he had drunk several beers earlier.
Moreover, during the proceedings it turned out that the driver had... a lifetime ban on driving vehicles.
The 46-year-old could now face between three months and as much as five years in prison.
