The incident occurred on Friday, February 14. At around 7:00 p.m., two vehicles—a Ford and a Honda—collided at the intersection of Zygmunt Augusta Street and Wojska Polskiego Avenue in Bolesławiec.
American soldiers were traveling in the Ford. Police determined that the Ford driver, a 33-year-old citizen of the United States, caused the accident by failing to yield the right of way to the Honda driver, a 42-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The latter was taken to hospital with a spinal injury.
