The incident occurred on Thursday, February 6, at around 7:00 p.m., on Kościuszki Street in Bolesławiec. The driver of a Daewoo failed to stop for a traffic check. The officers began a pursuit.

At one point, the driver turned onto a dirt road, jumped out of the car and began fleeing on foot. The fugitive left a passenger in the vehicle—a 29-year-old resident of Lwówek County. He was detained because, as it turned out, he had methamphetamine on him.

Measures aimed at apprehending the driver are under way. He could face between three months and as many as five years in prison. The detained 29-year-old could be imprisoned for up to three years.
