A reader called us: “You haven’t had a story like this before: a car break-in and battery theft.”
The incident occurred on Thursday, January 23, on Cieszkowskiego Street in Bolesławiec. “I returned to the car, and there was… no power,” the victimized man recounts. “I looked under the hood—there was no battery.”
Interestingly, the thief or thieves were not deterred even by the prickly bushes next to which the car was parked.
The police are investigating the matter. Since the value of the stolen property did not exceed PLN 500, the act was classified as a petty offense. The perpetrator or perpetrators may face arrest, restriction of liberty or a fine.
“I won’t get the battery back,” the reader tells us. But he immediately adds that he simply wanted to warn others, because this is reportedly not the first case of this kind in our county recently.
