As is standard during this type of intervention, we checked the entire building with a multi-gas detector; there was no carbon monoxide hazard. However, the residents left the house for their safety.
Using an aerial ladder and chimney-sweeping equipment, we knocked the burning soot off the chimney walls. We then used extinguishing powder and high-pressure water to eliminate the hazard.
They add:
During the operation, we had to make a cleanout opening in the chimney using a rotary hammer because none was present.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. In addition to the firefighters from Nowogrodziec, firefighters from KP PSP Bolesławiec took part in the operation.
