On Friday, January 17, officers from the Police Station in Szprotawa received a report about the driver of a Seat passenger car who was allegedly intoxicated. In Leszno Górne, the officers spotted a car matching the description in the report.

However, the attempt to stop him did not prove so simple. The driver failed to respond to the light and sound signals and had no intention of stopping. On the contrary, he continued driving in a very dangerous manner. He accelerated and braked sharply, and also crossed into the opposite lane, endangering both the police officers and other road users.

At one point, he hit a guardrail with the Seat. That did not stop him, however. He continued his escape. He drove into a forest, where, after braking sharply, he caused a collision with a police car.

The fugitive turned out to be a 31-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The man was drunk; he had more than one per mille of alcohol in his system.

The 31-year-old was arrested and taken to the police station in Szprotawa. He was charged with a total of six offenses, including insulting police officers and violating their bodily integrity.
