Officers from the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters’ Department for Combating Property Crime established, as a result of operational work, who was responsible for numerous vehicle break-ins and property thefts that had recently occurred in Legnica.
The 25-year-old resident of Legnica was arrested. Officers have already charged him with nine offenses. The man will face trial.
The thief stole items left in vehicles, including money, wallets, payment cards, documents, and even a violin dating from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, worth PLN 10,000.
The police managed to recover some of the property, including the aforementioned instrument.
The man had previously been convicted of this type of offense. He now faces between one and as many as 15 years in prison.
