An unknown man called the landline of a 67-year-old resident of Lubin County and claimed to be a police officer. He informed her that he was investigating a loan fraud—committed to the detriment of the 67-year-old herself—by an employee of a financial institution and a postman. He even gave her his service identification number and the number of the ongoing proceedings.
The fraudster asked the senior woman not to tell anyone about the call, to go to her bank and withdraw PLN 25,000 from her account.
The man steered the conversation in such a way that the confused 67-year-old actually went to the bank. However, she was unable to withdraw her money because... she had forgotten her identity card. She then called her son-in-law, who arrived at the scene and made her realize that it had been an attempt to defraud her of her savings.

Lubin police officers recorded six more such reports. However, the other people did not believe their callers and refused to provide any information about their personal details or the name of the bank where they kept their savings.
