The tragedy occurred on December 30, at approximately 5:00 a.m., in Ręczyn (Zgorzelec County), on provincial road no. 352.
According to investigators’ findings, a 53-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, driving a BMW, struck a 57-year-old woman who was on a pedestrian crossing. The resident of the same county died at the scene.
The driver responsible for the crash will now face trial for his actions. At the prosecutor’s request, he has already been temporarily detained for three months.
